Amazing Show for Foodies : The CHEF Show

Pingping + Anna

Introduction

The Chef Show is a cooking show featuring director/actor Jon Favreau and his mentor, Chef Roy Choi, inspired by Favreau's 2014 comedy film Chef. The hosts travel around the world and hang out with interesting guests while enjoying food and dessert. The show tries to split the difference between cooking instruction and entertainment.

Review

This VDO gives information not only on the process, but also the scientific theory, such as how the ingredients react to other ingredients. From our perspective, we have watched the second season, we really enjoy the foodie hosts and the visited restaurants because they all share the same interest and have interesting conversations. This show has a cooking-with-your-friends vibe. They ask good questions too. The show is very casual, natural and relaxed.

The show is also well-filmed without being super staged. Roy Choi spontaneously encourages others to keep experimental and creative. Most importantly: the show encourages experimenting with food, the goal of any good cooking show. On top of that, we learned many aspects of three people from this show, childhood mood and opinion of their memories.

Recommend : Amazing Show for Foodies and Movies

Just don’t watch when you are hungry :) This is a really fun show to watch. It features celebrity chef Roy Choi. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves food or movies, as the creator is a famed director.

Interview

The moderator really enjoyed it because he told us that many menus in this episode are from his childhood. Also, the chef has an opportunity to promote their café and have more customers. Roy said "I'm learning how to bake a cake, and these are the practical things. So, I understand the process” Another moderator said “the best thing I was impressed with was the activity, and I feel really excited” The director also has more connections in the restaurant.
