Sushi is one of my favourite dishes. It's a cook which is easy to cook and delicious. Since I was a kid, I was a lover of Japanese food, especially sashimi on top of rice. When I travelled abroad, I always missed Thai food. However, if I couldn't find Thai food, Japanese food can replace my longing. I have many memories while I am eating sushi.
About 2 years ago, my family and I decided to travel to the southern part of Japan, Fukuoka. This trip was extraordinary because my grandmother joined the trip, which was the first time that she joined us. Obviously, my parents upgraded everything in order to make my grandmother the most comfortable. The trip’s schedule was extremely flexible, and in one city we stayed for 2 to 3 days. Therefore, my grandmother could enjoy the hotel’s facilities and Japanese nature.
In the hotel, there was an upscale restaurant, so we booked it. Wearing Japanese clothes, we went to a private Japanese dining room. Opening the traditional Japanese door side way, I saw a long table full of food sets . On the other side of the room, there was a river next to the room, which created a chilling mood. Eight of us sat on seats, and then a waiter, who wore Japanese traditional attire, came to the table. She explained the appetizer. After we finished it, the waiter explained the course, which had various kinds of Japanese food such as raw fish, sushi, miso soup, onigiri, and beef grill, etc. Unfortunately, I cannot remember all the menu because some menus are in Japanese.
There was one thing that I can remember that was served with a box, which opened side ways. The layers inside the box had various menus. It reminded me of the topic that we were talking about. August, my cousin who went on the trip with us, thought he lost his camera while we were loading luggage on the bus. We looked for it but couldn't find it. After giving up, we walked straight to the bus. August was so worried about his lost camera because he just got it. Half-way through the destination, though, Aunna said she carried August’s camera bag, but she didn’t know that August desperately wanted to find it. I shared this story with my famliy and they laughed as we ate our delicious Japanese meal. Finally, the waiters served dessert, which was Japanese pudding, which was tasty. Overall, I liked the meal a lot.
SUSHI: The iconic symbol of Japanese creativity because chef can combine rice with a variety of fresh vegetables and seafood in order to create every bite exposing a distinctive and sensory Japanese experience.
The origin of sushi is in Japan in the medieval period. Narezushi, salted fish, pack around rice as a tool for preservation due to food shortages. Then, in the fourteenth century, the introduction of vinegar with sushi created the signature taste of this dish that we know today. Thus, this classic dish has also become an important part of my life, a companion wherever I go and can't find delicious Thai food, or when I get bored of Thai food. It's also a reminder of the times that I've shared with my family.
